  I had a terrible encounter with this VERY rude Dr. I switched to another doctor in the practice and have been beyond happy. The practice is fantastic, this particular doctor is not.

  I came here originally, new to town, and without an OB midway through my first pregnancy. This place was recommended through a co-worker but I was told to ONLY see the midwives. Well at 33 weeks along, I went into labor and had to stay in the hospital for 6 days. I saw all the doctors, all of which who were very nice, except for Dr. Forsthoefel. She was very rude and seemed inconvenienced with every concern I had. At 37 weeks, I began to have very bad kidney pains which have been going on since I was 15. My urologist couldn't do anything as I was pregnant. I couldn't sleep or eat for days and was in and out of the triage nightly as my pain was bringing on contractions and making my blood pressure sky-rocket. Other than pain killers, they wouldn't do anything. After calling non stop for a phone call with my assigned doctor, Dr. Forsthoefel, she finally agreed to see me. I asked if it would be possible to be induced, as I was worried about my kidneys and didn't want to have to come into the triage every night for pain killers that I didn't even want. She was condescending and rude the entire time. She told me if I was worried about my health, maybe I shouldn't have gotten pregnant and that 'It wasn't about me anymore'. She wouldn't even have a conversation with about any of my options and referred to inducing me as "aborting the pregnancy" the entire time. After I was in tears, she said she would check to see if I was further dilated (I had been 4 cm since I was 33 weeks) I told her no, I didn't want to be touched by her. She proceeded to tell me that if I wouldn't let her check me, she'd drop me as a patient and 'I wouldn't be able to be seen anywhere this late in the game'. I went back for my second pregnancy, hoping to be able to switch doctors, as I LOVED the midwives and nearly everyone else there. When I called, they told me I couldn't schedule because I had no showed more than 3 times, they'd have to get permission from my doctor to see me. I told them there was no way I no showed, as I had to be seen once a week the entire time because I had gone into early labor. I then asked what days I had apparently no showed and they couldn't tell me. I spoke to 3 different women and only one of them could give me any dates. The one that could only gave me one day I had no showed (not 3), and I tried to calmly explain to her that the reason I didn't show up that appointment was because I ended up going into labor the day of that appointment and was with the midwife doing so at that time and was sorry I didn't call between pushes to cancel. I assumed I didn't have to, as the midwife I had the appointment with delivered my daughter that day. I'm writing this now, over two years later as I was informed by a lawyer recently that to drop a patient knowing they won't be able to find another doctor is considered malpractice and I don't want this happening to another poor expectant mother that's already going through a lot being pregnant. I would not suggest this doctor to my worst enemy and I hope everyone who does see her doesn't have any of the problems I had.
