  The staff is very young and inexperienced. I can't recall having to help a dental hygienist manage their dental equipment as much as I did during my first cleaning. The consultation with the dentist was fine. My pregnant wife called to make an appointment and told the receptionist how far along she was and asked if she could be seen. The receptionist said she checked with the staff and said she was far enough along to have the appointment. When my wife arrives she is told she will not be seen as they would like her to be further along. Why wasn't she told that to begin with? She finally had a cleaning, which took 3 and a half hours, and was told she needed some fillings. When she came for the fillings they numbed her face all the way up to her eyebrows, and walked out of the room constantly. After 3 hours, and only half way finishing the work, the dentist asked her to go home and come back on another date just because the dentist wanted to go home. Next, I received a letter stating my insurance didn't pay anything, and I owed $300 for a cleaning and X-rays. My wife recieved several bills in the mail after her appointments. When I arrived to settle the bills I was told that our insurance companies paid and they sent the bills by mistake. My wife didn't want to schedule her next cleaning as she is due to have our baby and wanted to worry about it after the birth. They scheduled an appointment for her anyway and refused to cancel it. My final straw is that I had a cleaning scheduled for tomorrow that I made 6 months ago, that I confirmed two weeks ago over the phone that I would be coming. I also confirmed this on Monday through an email they sent me asking to confirm. I received a call and email today that my appointment was cancelled. I'm really glad to know that they don't value my wife and I as clients. I would rather have all my teeth rot out naturally then ever step foot at Thomasville Road Dental Care ever again.

  If I could give this place zero stars, I would. To give you a complete breakdown, when you walk-in this office- it's beautiful. Very clean, very nice decor, complimentary this- that- and a third. However, the staff is very young, inexperienced, and unorganized. My first appointment there ever, I was having severe tooth pain. The Doctor, Dr.Carter- recommended a root canal. I told him I'd be fine with whatever he recommends so long as my insurance covers it. So I get rescheduled, and come back in for appointment number 2 and the receptionist comes in the room to inform me of "my portion" and making sure I'm aware of the cost, which is nearly $900! I get that it's not their fault my insurance only covers 50% of all procedures however, I specifically told Dr.Carter with his dental assistant and financial adviser in the room that I can't afford any major out of pocket fees, as I am a college student! After this catastrophe they get me scheduled or ANOTHER appointment, which was today and this time I'm set for a tooth extraction. I get to the facility, 5 minutes early, and I have to wait 20 minutes for the Doctor. He literally walks in, says Hi, sees the procedure he's schedule for- and leaves the room sending the financial adviser back in to tell me I need to get a root canal or go see an oral surgeon. He has THEM tell me this, he didn't have the courage to tell me to my face. His reasoning is "he doesn't feel comfortable extracting the tooth". After numbing my entire face- he decides this! He had to have kn own this beforehand if he's ever looked at my X-Rays (if this was really the case- that is), in which he could've let me know in advance so I wouldn't have yet again, wasted an hour of my life and gas!! The tone of his voice, and the depth of his actions at all of these visits doesn't make me think he cares. It honestly makes me feel like he's just after more money, pitching a sale to me about a so called "treatment plan" as an extraction would get him a $105 payout and a tooth extraction $900+. This is a 30 minute drive for me there and back so I'm very disappointed, still in pain, & wasn't offered a medical prescription to relieve me of the pain at any of these visits. Do not waste your time at this office. Get a REAL dentist.
